The Pause that Refreshes

We like to think we can “power” through our daily tasks, but our determination to get everything done might just make things feel even more chaotic.

Even though at first it may feel that if you keep your nose to the grindstone you will be able to accomplish all your goals, there is a huge possibility that you will be pushing through from your smaller, ego identified self and miss out altogether on the vast reservoir of inspiration and energy your Soul, or higher Self offers. You may find that working methodically, along with a deeper awareness of the flow of spirit running through you could be much more effective.

Should you feel pressure throughout the day and find that your life feels frenetic, you can take a short break to relax, relieve some of your internal pressure, and gain a larger perspective on the ways in which you work when linked with your inner resources.

Taking a short walk and getting grounded, sitting for a few minutes in meditation and resting in silence or in your heart, or doing a relaxing yoga pose while focusing on your breath could take your mind off of your work and help bring your focus within. Giving yourself time to recover your energy and calm your mind may make it easier for you to concentrate, access inspiration and make things feel less hectic.

Short breaks during the day are essential for maintaining our mental, physical, and emotional energy levels. If we simply power through our work, we may feel overwhelmed by all the things we have on our plate, which in turn makes it difficult for us to focus on our goals. Resting, however, lowers our level of frenetic energy and instead recharges us with positive energy. When we give ourselves breaks, we actually give ourselves the gift of healing, for we allow our bodies not only to recuperate but also to take in the curative energy of the universe. By letting yourself rest today, you will work with more focus, efficiency, and vitality.

Love, live & prosper!
