Excellent article on grounding/earthing!

Image
Earthing by Hema Simondes There’s been quite a buzz recently among athletes and health enthusiasts, on how to more quickly and easily recover from acute or chronic inflammation and injury through earthing. The term ‘earth’ is used often in Europe and equates to what we also call ‘ground’ here in America. A ‘grounded’ human being is someone who is connected to and receives direct benefit from the infinite free electron source generated directly from our planet. We’re grounded when we hold the same electrical potential as the Earth’s surface. Electrons are absorbed or discharged via the skin, mainly through our feet in contact with the ground. This is an ancient and profound yet hugely common sense principle of well-being that’s currently resurging amidst enthusiastic stories of its success. It’s well accepted that electrical systems of our homes or sophisticated electrical equipment must be grounded to function safely and effectively. But how much have we considered th...

To connect or NOT to connect...

Image
I have the great privilege of talking about intimacy with lots of people, and I’m often heart broken by the number of people who readily acknowledge that their love life is mediocre, at best. Why? Why aren’t these lovers bursting full of heart and soul, radiating passionate life force? Why aren’t their days filled with the energy of love sweetly rushing through their bodies as they go their way? Why aren’t they swooning with inflamed hearts and bodies full of bliss hormones when they are together?? Painting by Arna Baartz Small beliefs, small experiences A distortion I often encounter is that people think the goal of sex is orgasm. Oh honey, there is sooo much more. Have we mistaken “technique” for connection? How often do you feel well and truly met? How often are you fully present and available to connect with your partner? There are realms of passionate energy that dwarf the experience of genital orgasm, or even whole body orgasm. And while orgasm, especially whole...

Energy shifts rockin your world?

Image
Are you feelin it?? Combine the ongoing rain in the Seattle area with the dramatic forces of nature across the country, add several huge solar flares, a series of 3 powerful eclipses last month, the solstice last Thursday, the full moon today, mercury going retrograde and you could attest that it's wild these days! It can be really helpful to know that these kinds of events have a huge impact on our emotional bodies. The solar flares rock the earth's magnetic fields which in turn rattles the magnetic field of our emotional body. Activations happen and we each respond to them differently, according to how we are organizing our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energies. Most folk get rattled in some way. This last week people reported that they were emotionally all over the place, had headaches, were dizzy, feeling buzzy, couldn't think, saw visions, and felt really overwhelmed. There has been a lot of powerful dreaming (if you slept at all) and old dysfunc...

What is it that you do Cherie?

Image
Do? You may have asked me yourself, Cherie, what is that you do? Several people have mentioned you and they're all loving what you do but they seem to be talking about different things. I've heard this so many times in the 35 years I've been doing Holistic healing work. Why? Well it's a large topic, this learning to be Whole thing and people's pathways are varied and unique. No two people's work with me will be the same, it's tailored to you, or to those who attend a group practice or training. So today I'm going to introduce you to what I call " tablework ", it's done on the massage table, in an individual's session. It's one aspect of what I DO.                                                        ...

Read it if you dare, you may find power within…  Thank you Rebecca Gladding, MD! Cherie   Use Your Mind to Change Your Brain How to overcome self-defeating thoughts and actions by Rebecca Gladding, M.D. This Is Your Brain on Meditation The science explaining why you should meditate every day Published on May 22, 2013 by Rebecca Gladding, M.D. in Use Your Mind to Change Your Brain   I realized today that in all my posts regarding the brain and how to sculpt it with mindfulness , I’ve never actually explained how and why meditation works. Specifically, the science behind how your brain changes the longer you meditate. I think this is important for many reasons, but one of the most salient is that this information serves as a great motivator to keep up a daily practice (or...
